CSA, which stands for Compliance, Safety, Accountability, is an FMCSA safety program designed to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes. The program includes an enforcement and compliance model allowing FMCSA and its state partners to proactively work with a larger number of carriers and address safety problems before crashes occur.

There are two opposing forces when it comes to delivering freight. On one hand, shippers want to be able to move as much freight as possible in a single load. On the other hand, roads and bridges can be damaged and sometimes collapse when they are subjected to too much weight.

To manage ever-increasing freight demands as well as costly infrastructure repairs, federal and provincial governments have implemented a system of weight and size restrictions for commercial vehicles. Knowing the weight and dimensions of your vehicle, your cargo and even your fuel is important to stay in compliance as you drive.

This course will help you understand the pictograms, labels and safety data sheets used by the Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS 2015), and provide information on protecting yourself from hazardous products in the workplace.

• Identify the nine hazard pictograms and the hazards they represent
• Describe the different routes of entry that hazardous chemicals can take into your body
