Any Ontario-based company involved in the handling of waste, whether it be storing, transporting, or disposal, is required to obtain certification from the Ministry of the Environment. We help waste and dump truck haulers register with the Ministry of Environment and get a MOE number.

Usually, it takes around 3-4 weeks, but during peak times, it may take up to 5 weeks too.

Yes, to obtain a CVOR certificate, the ministry invites you to write the test. After we submit the application, the ministry sends you a permission letter to write the test. You can go to any service in Ontario that has a drive-test center and do your test. When you pass the test, you get your CVOR certificate within 1-2 days.

The Ministry provides you with a “Safety Manual” to prepare for the test, which is a 284-page document that you read to prepare for the test.

We have also created a test preparation guide. Each practice test in our guide starts with important highlights of the respective topic, and then it has a multiple-choice type. Questions and answers, just like you get in an actual test. At the end of each practice test, there are answers.

All carriers are required by law to always fulfill certain federal and provincial rules and regulations. The audits may be triggered by any number of factors.
  • New carriers (or carriers who have never been audited).
  • Follow up on a conditional or unsatisfactory review.
  • An investigation of a safety-related complaint(s) that are deemed valid and serious enough to warrant a compliance review.
  • A high-profile or fatal accident.
  • A request by a motor carrier to audit its operation.

No, they are not mandatory, but they add value to your business, as when you obtain these certifications, you are considered a safe carrier, and most brokers these days want to work only with certified carriers and give priority to carriers who are not certified.

Oversize and overweight permits are required for trucks and loads that exceed the standard dimensions and weights set by the ruling transportation body of each province and state.

Apart from this, temporary trip and fuel permits are issued when you want to travel in a province or state, and you do not have annual IFTA or IRP permits. They are called “single trip and fuel permits” and are issued by the respective governing agencies.
